Dinosaur “Ciro”
The dinosaur “Ciro”, puppy of Scipionyx Samniticus lived 113 million years ago and found in the 80s in Pietraroja in Sannio. It is one of the most important fossils in the history of paleontology.
Ancient Telesia
The Samnites city of Telesia, located in Valle Telesina, is mentioned for the first time in 217 BC when it was occupied by Annibale and then in 214 BC, when it was regained by Quinto Fabio Massimo.
Telesia was born Ponzio Telesino, leader of the Samnites in 90-89 BC. Telesia was a rich and opulent city, had an amphitheater, a circus, a hole, thermae and a coin.
Benevento
The city of Benevento, is located between the rivers “Sabato” and “Calore” and is also known as the "Witches" city.
It has a magical history and is rich in historical and artistic testimonies of remarkable value:
The Traian Arch, located in the center of the city, was built between 114 and 117 a.c. in honor of the Emperor Trajan, at the beginning of the Traiana;
The Roman Theater, wanted by Caracalla, famous for its excellent acoustics.

In the Longobard period, Benevento was elevated to the Principality of Arechi II who, loving arts and culture, made numerous architectural works, such as the church of “Santa Sofia” with its beautiful cloister, since the UNESCO World Heritage site of 2011.
The end of domination Longobarda marks the passage of Benevento to the pontifical rule: architectural testimonies of that period are the majestic Rocca dei Rettori.
